Action Steps for Burnt Valley & Orient WUI/CE Projects

                                                                                                                        May 19, 2004

 

1.   Get photo montage together for use with public in meetings.

 

2.   Outreach/Contact residents in Burnt Valley & Orient.

 

3.   Re-format our ÒdraftÓ Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) to match the ÒhandbookÓ format.

 

4.   Get the precise units and prescriptions from the Forest Service for discussion before Record of Decision.

 

5.   Get Third Party Monitoring protocols ready & perform monitoring.

 

6.   Regular Coalition ÒcollaborativeÓ meetings throughout projects.

 

7.   Neighborhood public meetings in each project area re: CWPP and the FS project.

 

8.   Public meetings and Media/Civic outreach for CWPP, NatÕl Fire Plan, Stewardship, and the WUI/CE Forest Service projects.

 

9.   Seminar on ÒDefining the WUIÓ.

 

10. Interact with Spokane Comm. College and Job Source                      regarding training for workers.

 

11. Seminar on ÒHow Stewardship Contracting WorksÓ.

 

These functions have overlap.  There will also be some repetition.  The NFF grant is for one year; these two WUI projects should be done within one year.  Where do you fit in?
